Ito Kyo - The Founder of Pygmalion Education
Mr. Ito has over 40 years of teaching experience in the field of early childhood education. By using the Pygmalion Method, he has observed astonishing effects on children whose learning efficiency and outcomes are promoted greatly. In order to help more children find their potential, Mr. Ito also provides the Pygmalion Method to other kindergartens

Q & A

Q Why are children able to solve 3rd grade problems easily after receiving the Pygmalion Method ?

A  It’s because the Pygmalion Method does not simply teach, but focuses more on motivating the children to learn by themselves. Our goal is to foster children’s thinking ability, getting them well-equipped with the necessary skills in the future. Thus, rather than rote learning, we practice autonomous learning. Children engage in the learning environment independent of instructor guidance. When children become highly motivated learners, they are more likely to deal with the problems that are more challenging on their own. That’s why children who join Pygmalion are able to complete 6th grade lessons even if they are only 2nd or 3rd graders.

Q Why do children become passionate learners after receiving the Pygmalion Method?

A When children are encouraged, they will become confident and have a sense of achievement. Once children receive positive feedback, they will be greatly motivated in learning. We always praise children when they perform well no matter how much they understand. If they absorb 70 percent of a lesson, then we compliment them on their hard work. We don’t scold them for being unable to understand the 30 percent of a lesson. We believe learning should be a slow and on-going process. Only by adopting an incremental curriculum can we provide children with a more solid foundation on which to build more in-depth knowledge. So first, it’s important to let children feel encouraged. Then, we focus on their weaknesses and let them practice more. After doing enough exercises, let them do the problem that they could not figure out in the previous lesson. As a result, by following the Pygmalion Method, children will naturally enjoy the process of learning instead of growing tired of it.

Q Why do Pygmalion Method have such an amazing effect on children?

A All the courses that we have are designed according to the order of how humans acquire knowledge. The information that humans receive will go through a series of steps before turning into knowledge (hand ability → spatial ability → shape ability → mathematical skill → literacy → social ability). The courses that we offer have many activities that aim to cultivate all the abilities that are required to form knowledge.
